Our commitment to professional growth is evidenced by the training the teachers at Kinnelon High School are receiving to develop their technology skills, so they integrate technology into their classes and make appropriate information available to parents and students. Although over 70% of our staff has earned advanced degrees, we are committed to providing faculty with the support and opportunities they need to teach the standards, differentiate instruction, incorporate 21st Century skills, and to prepare our students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in future educational and career endeavors.
Kinnelon High School operates a modified rotating block schedule. Our school day consists of six instructional class periods, each approximately sixty minutes in length. The students’ eight classes meet on a rotating four-day schedule. Longer class periods have enabled the faculty to institute changes in instructional strategies, such as alternative assessments and cooperative group learning.
Our honor code, a high participation rate in community senior service ventures, as well as special programs offered throughout the year funded with community support, help prepare students to be ethical and well-rounded leaders and involved citizens. Please know that our goal is to continue to provide opportunities for success for all of our students.
