The Kinnelon Public Schools English Language Arts Department is dedicated to providing students with a challenging and engaging curriculum that is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and establishes the essential foundation for future success in English.  From Kindergarten through Grade 12 we provide a range of courses that support the effective learning of English and Language Arts and focuses on reading comprehension (of both fiction and nonfiction texts), literary analysis, vocabulary acquisition, grammar study, public speaking and a wide range of writing genres so that students are prepared for post-secondary education and careers. We also promote a supportive environment that fosters creativity, inquiry, and active learning.
