Being a Peer Leader is a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow as a helping person, as a leader, and to influence others in a positive way. Peer Leaders work hard but have fun. The ability to understand and appreciate differences and the diversity of each individual is essential. Leaders will work in pairs to promote conversations about social, emotional, and academic issues. They will plan small and large group activities that provide enjoyment and peer-to-peer learning opportunities for the 9th graders. One of the most critical parts of being a peer leader is the responsibility of being a positive role model for all KHS students both in and outside of school.
Senior Service

Senior Service is a student initiated program that offers seniors an opportunity to conclude their Kinnelon High School educational experience and requirements by completing a community service or professional work project. Students during their last month of school get to donate their time to an area of their choice. Students must volunteer 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day in replacement of their school hours. Students must submit an application. The students' attendance and grades must be in good standing in order to participate.
Some of the volunteer sites students can choose from include, but are not limited to, nursing homes, hospitals, libraries, elementary/middle schools, recreation departments, parks departments and ambulance corps, non-profit organization YMCA etc. Work sites are limited to those that service the surrounding areas. Volunteer locations are approved by the Principal. Contact Dr. Bruffy for details.
Trust Club (The Renaissance of Uniting Students Together)
The Trust Club is a school district-based outreach club. It provides opportunities for all Kinnelon High School students to interact and give back to the students in middle and elementary schools, as well as the community. High school students create fun and exciting social events with children throughout the community allowing group connections to be formed. If you are an outgoing person, who is kind, and would like to make a difference in a child’s life, we need you!
